I chose from a variety of articles I thought my readers would like. This subject — on dealing with stomach issues naturally — stuck out to me because I so often deal with that — and nothing seems to help. I’ve always thought that natural remedies were best for most issues we encounter. I hope you will benefit from this as much as me.
I’d love to hear YOUR best natural remedies for things in the comments. Do you have a go-to cold or flu remedy? How about aches and pains? Gas or indigestion? I’m all ears!
Warm Up, Stay Fit & Keep Moving!
I also wanted to share with you an awesome graphic created by the folks at Venta Airwasher. They are really into providing wellness tips to their customers and asked me to contribute to their winter tips guide. I had no idea they’d create such a beautiful graphic to display the tips! Check it out:
Now onto a a little core action…!

I need mo' ginger in my life.
How fun that you guys are all in the piece on DC winter fitness–this is certainly the perfect one for figuring out how to get it done! I started using peppermint oil tablets several years back before long runs and races b/c I would get GI issues. They have worked like a charm for me. I'd rather go natural like that then pharma any day.
Love the "strength is beautiful" tee! Where did you get that?
My tummy troubles -and really it was just that my stomach was always a "question mark' I was either fine or I wasn't and I never knew which would strike, what caused it, or what would make me feel better – have improved dramatically since my celiac diagnosis and going gluten free and my IBS diagnosis (yes, you can have both!) and limiting starches and other grains. (the low starch IBS diet book is awesome)
I actually thought my question mark of a tummy was normal, so it wasn't even digestive stuff that took me to the doctor, it was severe fatigue due to a b12 deficiency.
With what I know now, I think anyone with any sort of digestive upset that happens more than twice a month (or has to be "planned around" – like I can't eat that if I'm going to work out…) should get checked for celiac/IBS by a doctor (there are blood/gene tests that are the first step) because having untreated celiac exponentially increases your chances of several types of cancer. There is also a link with colon cancer and IBD (more severe IBS).
As far as management – I take magnesium every night (a powder mixed with warm water) and try to keep artificial/processed foods out of my diet to help my tummy stay happy! 🙂
I love the informational flyer – very cool!
Lately I've been having a lot of stomach issues. I'll have to try some of these remedies!! Thank you.
