No, this is not a sponsored post or anything. I truly just wanted to tell you. Plus, I promised a few friends on Twitter a review!
You guys — I’m SUCH a sucker! I mean, who buys something they see on TV anymore? This is basically like QVC-style shopping. I guess I get my from my Grandma (she loves home shopping channels!).
So I’ve seen the “My Pillow” advertised forever. You’ve seen the guy with the moustache and the people talking about how “My Pillow” changed their lives. I never truly considered buying one but…the truth is, I’ve been using some pretty terrible pillows for years. I have never spent any good money on a pillow and that’s pretty silly considering my head is on one for 8 hours a day if I’m lucky. It seemed like every pillow I ever had lost its fluff quickly and I was always folding them in have to get some oompf!
One day a few weeks I saw that the company had received an “F” from the Better Business Bureau but it was for a very silly reason. They apparently weren’t supposed to use the “buy one get one free” deal (still don’t know why) and for that, they got a bad review. It had nothing to do with the product itself. I was kind of annoyed and figured now was as good a time as ever to break down and purchase one.
So yeah, I scooped up the BOGO deal cause if you’re getting one, why not get two? It cost me about $100 for two pillows. It felt wrong forking that over for pillows but again, I reminded myself that sleep and comfort go hand in hand. I got the pillows in the mail shortly after. They were rolled up and packed tight. I got them out and was severely disappointed! Then, I read the instructions. You have to put them in the dryer for 15 minutes first!
After their dryer run, they were the fluffiest, softest things ever! I tossed pillow cases on them and have been sleeping happily with them every night! Yes, it’s been over a week and I have no complaints. They are super comfortable and are supposed to last like 10 years or something so here’s to not buying any new pillows for a decade!
They also tossed in this $10 off card and I’m willing to send it to someone so…if you want the card, comment and I’ll pick someone at random.
I’d love the gift card! In desperate need of a good pillow. Thanks for keeping us in the loop on this good find, Ericka!
Jacqui, if you see this reply, the gift card is yours! Please email me at ericka.andersen@gmail.com to claim it!
I’ve seen the My Pillow booth on base (Air Force) near where we live and have been wondering what’s the big deal, but didn’t want to ask the salesman. Thanks for the honest review. We have flat, cheap pillows that need to be replaced so I would love to get some for our family!
I have more than one $100 pillow and I hate them!! I’ve looked at these, but I wasn’t sure. I appreciate your review.
I’ve never had any other pricey pillows so I can’t compare but I’m a fan of these!
LOL. That’s so funny because it’s me in the commercial saying “It really did change my life.” I was interviewed about 5 years ago and not paid, just a happy customer. The pillows have cured my neck aches and migraines (mine were caused by neck problems), so I’m extremely grateful for these pillows. BTW – It’s important to keep washing and drying them every few months.
So funny! Oh and yes, thanks for telling me that, I will remember to dry them again!
I agree. They seem so good but I dint want to spend 100.00 .. Now I see this review I want them lol
I was lucky enough to win 2 pillows in one of their raffles (like them on facebook, they really do give them away!) I love them, then my daughter, who was 8 months pregnant and could not get comfortable enough to sleep, took one and really liked it. So much so, I have not seen it again and the baby is over 1 year old now!
Had consistently seen this ad on TV and finally sent for My Pillow 2for 1. Best deal in town.
Have slept soundly since pillows arrived 3 weeks ago. Over the past 4 years must have returned at least 8 pillows. This is a keeper if you want a good night’s sleep.
I’ve been seeing the commercials and have researched my pillow. I thought the same thing, why would I spend this much in pillow. However like you, my neck has been feeling bad and I find myself not sleeping well at night. So I have been becoming more and more interested in purchasing my pillow. I am glad I saw your post! Did you get the classic or premium?
Can you do a follow up review a few more weeks in? Curious how the pillow’s performance is long term.
We’ve had the pillows for a few months now. As long as you toss them in the washer and dryer every once in a while, they stay nice and fluffy. We bought 4 (2 on the BOGO deal) so my wife and I each have 2. She loves hers so very much, and I am more in “like” with mine. Don’t get me wrong, this is the best pillow we’ve had hands-down, but my standards were impossibly high going in to this. We do not regret spending the money, and in fact are pretty glad we did.
I’ve spent a heck of a lot more than $100 over the last ten years trying to find a comfortable pillow. A few at hotels were perfect but similar versions purchased from home were NOT the same thing. My Pillow ended up being the closest to ideal yet, so I’ve stopped looking. After two years it is still soft, fluffy and malleable. I would say it is probably smart to follow the cleaning instructions closely. Sometimes what you see is indeed what you get!
