Never thought I’d need to do this but….it happened this weekend. I woke up Sunday morning in serious NEED of coffee. I had a 5k to run shortly and I just do NOT start the day without coffee — ever. I couldn’t tell you the last time I didn’t start my day immediately with coffee.

The coffeemaker just refused to work and so…we got creative.  R decided to take matters into his own hands and came up with a brilliant solution while we were too lazy to go buy a new coffee maker.

It was pretty simple but something I’d never have thought of on my own, which is which is why I wanted to share it with you.

We had a few extra large mason jars in the cabinet, left over from these. So he just took the coffee filter, filled it with coffee and secured the “pod” by screwing the mason jar cap on the sides. Then he boiled water and pour it in like so:

Step 1: Secure coffee filter inside mason jar top.

Step 2: Fill with coffee grounds.

Step 3: Boil water

Step 4: Slowly pour water over coffee in mason jar, drip-like.

Step 5: Let sit for a minute or so, then serve carefully! Don’t burn yourself!

Consensus: It tasted great! Here’s to having a resourceful man around the house! He also hangs things on the wall and fixes things that are broken 🙂

Have you ever been resourceful like this? Do you have any creative “at-home” methods? I’d love to hear them!
