I’m a sucker for pretty much any crossfit-related photo. Just looking at them makes me feel bigger, badder, stronger. Silly concept — maybe — except that half the battle is in your head.

Some people can’t believe I run marathons like it’s not that big of a deal. Me? I can’t believe there are girls that can do muscle-ups and deadlift 300 pounds.

Running is my spirit but Crossfit is my real challenge these days. How do I know? It’s really hard and I often would like to give up in the middle. And that’s why I KNOW it’s good for my body, mind and soul. 

I saw a meme the other day that said, “You know how you know someone does Crossfit? Because they talk about it 24-7.” I guess that’s true to a point. When you do Crossfit, you kind of want the world to know about it. You want other people to do it too. I mean, you think I don’t own these shirts? So, yeah, I’m one of those people.

I also always wondered why the classic workouts were named after women — “the girls” as they are called. Then, I ran into this excellent explanation:

Hilarious. While I’ve obviously yet to master most of the famous ladies, I’ll get there. I can’t wait to get back to real classes so I can end this at-home WOD stuff. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it’s simply NOT the same as sweating it out with a bunch of other well-wired individuals who love the same thing as you.

Speaking of workouts, here’s the one I’m going to put into action today. I’ll probably a mile warm-up and mile cool down run on this as well.
