G walking hand-in-hand with Grandma & Grandpa at the Arts Festival

I’ve been home in Indiana for the past couple of days — one of my favorite places to be. Yesterday, I ran the Indy Women’s Half-Marathon — which I will report on later!

For now, I just wanted to share a few photos of my time here, which has mostly consisted of family — especially my niece, Giovanna and my nephew, Marshall.

It was my first time meeting Marshall so I was really excited. He is 2 months old now but still seems so tiny to me. I’m not used to holding little babies but I kinda feel like a natural. I can’t wait to have my own kids so seeing my nephew was great.

It was also my sister’s 29th birthday so we had a little celebration at her house. You can see my brother-in-law wearing his Boston Marathon t-shirt in this pic. He’s in the last stages of prep for his first full Iron Man next Sunday in Wisconsin!

Last night, we went to my favorite place to eat when I’m home, Max’s Pizza, and then came home and laid around, which I was A-OK with since I worked hard running that 13.1 miles that morning.

My parents live right next to the Indiana University football stadium and there was a home game so tailgaters were everywhere and I felt like I was in the twilight zone back in college! The whole town is red and white and the atmosphere is buzzing with youth and excitement. It’s kind of a neat experience…most people don’t get to go back to their college towns much but I’m in a unique situation since I grew up here!

A few more of the babies:

Not my  normal post but wanted to let ya’ll know where I was! Look for  race report tomorrow or Tuesday and hope everyone is having a great 3-day weekend!
