Last night was a special treat! Rick and I went out to dinner with his sister and her husband in downtown Indianapolis. Even though I lived in Indiana most of my life, I never did much exploring in our capitol city.

Sandy had the great idea for a carriage ride around the city! First, we went to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, where I had a fantastic cheddar cheese burger. Then, we found the carriages and hopped aboard. Luckily, they provide plenty of warm blankets for your lap!

It’s a happy coincidence that Rick’s family also lives in Indiana. Our families are about an hour apart so we do a lot of back and forth while we are in town for the holidays. I was really excited to spend some time with his family and get to know them better. It’s tough when you only see them once a year!

See a resemblance? I do!

After a fun night, we headed back to the house, where I accidentally ate like four brownies. Woops! Rick’s nieces and nephews are the cutest but unfortunately, I never got any photos 🙁 But, believe me, they are awesome and it’s clear Rick loves being a fun uncle to them. I love watching them play 🙂

Of course, there have been other things going on — like running. I’ve worked out in some way every day so far. It really helps me stay happy and sane! Yesterday, I did a little run with my Dad on the new trail in town. He’s been out of running commission for a year so he’s working up to some miles.

The great thing about my family is that everyone is active. Everyone moves everyday and it’s very motivating not to get lazy over the holidays!

Me & Dad on the go! Sorry I look like I’m sleep running. Ugh!

Last, but not least, I’ve been hangin’ out with G everyday! Oh the girl doesn’t let up with the cuteness. Every time she comes into a room, she breaks out into a huge smile and it only takes a teensy bit of effort to make her laugh. If you ever need a day brightner, she’s the cure-all!
