>>>>> Muscle Recovery: Why It’s So Important
If you’ve been following along lately, you know I’ve kind of been having a love affair with protein shakes.
After I learned a bit about nutrition in my CPT course, I started to realize I was really putting myself at a disadvantage by not using protein correctly.
Like many people, I thought “protein over carbs” in a pinch but there’s so much more to it than that. I hadn’t been properly fueling after my workouts — which meant my hard working muscles weren’t getting what they needed.
Enter About Time protein powder & fruit nut protein bars. I’m all about easy, tasty and fast and this really works for me.
As a CrossFitter who has gotten serious about building muscle the right way, I welcome any product that I can trust. I love About Time because the ingredients are GOOD — non-GMO, natural and simple.
It doesn’t hurt that some of my favorite CrossFitters — like Christy Adkins and Julie Foucher — are also big fans 🙂
Here’s a few bits to know about the bars:
- Paleo
- Minimal ingredients 3-5 per bar depending on flavor
- Gluten free
- Great taste
- 11 g Egg white protein
- Naturally sweetened with dates
I also got a chance to check out the About Time to-go packs, which are super convenient to pop in your lunch bag, take to the gym or whatever. The thing about protein after a workout is that you need to get it in pretty quickly so having a packet on hand is helpful.

On the packets:
- Gluten free, Non GMO, Great taste (all products)- sweetened with Stevia
- Grab n go items to pack easily in lunch boxes or back packs
- Healthy nutrition for after school sports programs and events
I’m actually super impressed by the variety of product line offered at About Time, including protein pancake mix and pumpkin spice protein mix (limited!). They’ve also got an informative blog, which is always helpful for us athletes looking for tips!
Head on over and see if there’s anything that strikes your fancy! If you are looking to gear up your protein routine, now its a great time to start.
Be sure to check out About Time on social media:
Do you think you eat enough protein? Does anything hold you back from getting more or trying mixes?

I didn’t know About Time was gluten free, I’ll definitely have to check them out! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Yeah they are awesome!
Everything about these bars sound great! Quest and Luna are my go-to bars; these would be a welcome addition!
I am such a bar fiend! I like those brands too — as well as Balance Bars and Lara Bars. Totally depends on the mood of my taste buds! 🙂
