Okay, so that’s NOT me but it’s how I feel sometimes. Where is this chick? I like to think she’s backpacking through Australia. Mostly because that’s what I’d be doing if I were her. She’s letting all the glory of earthy winds envelop her and no strings are holding her back.
To feel that free.
Sometimes, I get a craving for the spirits of adventure that are nearly impossible to obtain. You see, I want to go everywhere. I couldn’t give a Top 10 list of the places I want to go because there are too many. If I’m lucky, I’ll get to hit up at least 10 more in my lifetime.
I’ve been lucky enough to visit some amazing places in my life: Venezuela, Mexico, Jamaica, Belgium, England, Holland, Germany, Spain, Lebanon, Dubai, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Malawi, Kenya and India.
Did you know that there is a website called MostTraveledPeople.com? I will never get on that list but I had fun browsing the website to see who my idols were : ) If money and time were no problem, my life goal would be to travel to every country in the world.
I’ve come across some glorious photos lately of some of the places I dream of so I hope you will indulge me this moment to share them with you.
1) Greece. This is also a place Rick wants to go so I have high hopes of actually getting here! I first fell in love with it while watching — don’t laugh — “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.” You know when Rory Gilmore (sorry, that’s all I can call her) goes to live with her grandmother for the summer? Yeah, swoon!
2) Thailand. This is just a given. Exotic, beautiful, pined over destination for many a world traveler. Even after watching “Broke Down Palace” (just rent it!), I’ve got to get here someday. I had the chance to go with my friends Jenny & Allison a couple of years ago but had to say no because of the cost.
3) South Africa. Okay, so I don’t know if this photo is actually from South Africa. Yes, I know that Africa is a continent, not a country. However, there are too many African countries to name that I’d like to visit so I”m settling for this. This photo is so “Lion King” -esque too! I’ll be taking a mission trip with my church to Burundi & the Democratic Republic of the Congo in June. Words can’t describe my anticipation!
5) Paris. It’s glamorized. It’s overdone. It’s the city of a thousand romantic poems. But I still want to go and I want to sit here at this little table overlooking the Eiffel Tower. I want to eat croissants every morning and drink tiny cups of espresso after every meal. I have a feeling I will never do this but I can still dream.
