Stitch Fix- Why I'm Loving It

Seems like I’ve been doing this a lot lately — giving in that is. I have been hearing about Stitch Fix through the blogging community for several years.

Not being a fashion gal myself, I never really considered it. It seemed like most of the bloggers writing about it were getting paid or getting free clothes (although I actually have no idea if that is true, it was just a guess and could be totally wrong.) And by the way, this is not a sponsored post, just me sharing the love.

I’m not one to spend a lot of money on clothes. I hate shopping and wear shoes until they are literally falling off my feet. I’m thankful I’m not into clothes because I’ve been able to save money. But then again, I lack fashion sense and never have a clue what to buy.

What Changed?

After chatting with my sister one day, I realized I actually fit the profile of the perfect customer for Stitch Fix. Because I do hate shopping and have no sense of style, it’s just what I needed. It sounded a tad luxurious and elite to have a “personal stylist.” I was thinking — hello, I’m not a celebrity! But Stitch Fix isn’t like that — and their approach is pretty awesome.

I hadn’t bought new clothes since my maternity outfits so I was excited to finally get started. I filled out an extensive style profile and was able to really communicate to the company what I was looking for. Additionally, they have you link up any style Pinterest boards you have so they can get to know what you like better. This was the original style profile I identified with most:

Reasons I love Stitch Fix So Far

  1. Personalized and easy to communicate with stylist
  2. Option to get Fixes frequently or rarely
  3. You can specify if you want higher ticket items or not
  4. Opportunity to try a new trend here and there but no obligation
  5. 20% discount if you buy all 5 pieces in your Fix
  6. You can eliminate things you don’t want sent like purses, jewelry, etc.
  7. They send outfit ideas for each item in photos with each Fix
  8. Super easy to send back if you don’t want to keep it all

So far, I have had two Fixes. I’ve kept all five pieces both times. In each Fix, I’ve disliked one item but with the 20% discount, it was actually cheaper to keep them. I intend to sell the items to a used clothing store or in the community Facebook group I’m in.

The Fixes are very thoughtful and they do take everything into consideration. There are variations of options for nearly everything and I’ve heard the Fixes just get better over time because your stylist really gets to know you, what you like and what works.

I’m currently getting a Fix every other month (you an get them every 3 weeks, month, other month or every three months) and spending about $200 on each one. At $100/month, I feel like I’m getting a great deal so far.

This dress (I know I’ve used this pic before) actually came in my first Fix and was a perfect fit, so comfortable and awesome:

What’s the Deal?

Why am I telling you about this? Well, first of all, I just love to tell people what I’m loving. Secondly, as a Stitch Fixer, there’s an incentive to share. If you sign up through my link, I will get a credit of $25 on my account so that’s cool! If you sign up, you would have the same opportunity to share and receive credits as well. They sure know how to spread the love!

The best part is that it’s so no risk. You can get it as little as once every three months and you can always send back what you don’t like. If you need some style love in your life, go for it.
