Swet Ride was kind of a no brainer for me to try. For one, it’s located a half mile from my house. Secondly, their motto is “to sweeten life.” What could be more appropriate for a blog called The Sweet Life?
I’ve been meaning to try them for like six months and now that I’m starting to feel like my old self again, I decided to do it. It’s been awhile since I did a 6am workout class but I was excited to go this morning.
Plus, they are a sister company (and located directly next to) Barre Tech, which I really enjoyed in the past and may start up again soon.
The Staff
The two I met were very friendly and helpful. The person at the front desk was very accommodating, helping me get my shoes and bike set up. I have the worst luck with locking on this clip shoes. It takes me forever! I just don’t do spin very often so I can’t seem to get the hang of it.
The instructor was also very friendly — checking in to see if I was doing okay and making sure I knew what was going on since it was my first class. He actually had to help me clip my shoe back in in the middle of class after I had to use the restroom. Oh man!

The Class
I really enjoyed it. It’s hard to believe how much you can do on a stationary bike. I know I will be feeling it in my glutes and quads tomorrow. The music was top notch, perfect for working up a sweat the instructor really mixed things up — exactly what I need in a spin class.
I did the main “Swet Ride” class, which is 50 minutes long. Of course, you can really make the tempo and difficulty whatever works for you. I tend to go…less difficult in spin because I’m just not that used to it.
They also have a “Swet Sculpt” class that includes arm workout stuff, which I’m looking forward to trying next. You know I love a class that has multiple purposes.
There is also a little monitor on the front of the bike showcasing your RPM, calories burned and other helpful metrics.

Should You Do It?
Yes! I enjoyed it more than other spin classes I’ve been to in the area. Granted, I’ve only been to a few — and I have yet to experience Soulcycle, Flywheel or Zengo — but Swet Ride is soooo convenient for me and I’m all about that. Plus, I have heard that some of those others might be a tad too intense for me. I’m really not about competing with other riders while I workout. Of course I will be trying out Zengo soon since my friend Kelsey is an instructor there! 😉
All in all, if you are close to the Del Ray area, I think Swet Ride is a good choice and their prices don’t seem as high as some other places I’ve seen.
Do you like to spin? What do you love about your favorite spin classes? Any tips for me to make them better or get more out of them?
I do love Spin! Totally would try this one out! SoulCycle is my fave!
SO glad you went to a Spin class!! After talking to you during bootcamp I definitely was glad you decided to give it a go! It’s my fav 😉 (PS BIG post coming tomorrow from me!! Eek!)
