I’ve always been really bad at watches. I’ve had multiple running watches but always end up leaving them in a drawer in the end because I can’t figure them out. I don’t get it — I’m cursed. These days, I usually rely on the RunKeeper app on my hone to keep track of what I ran.
However, there’s another little toy that I didn’t know I would love. I was recently sent a Fitbit from Verizon to test out. I wasn’t sure if it would be my thing. Luckily, it was easier to set up than any of the watches I owned and has a lot more cool stuff.
I just downloaded the Fitbit app on my iPhone from the app store, then charged the Fitbit. Once it was fully charged, I slapped it on my wrist and went about my day.
Let me tell you, those number tallies can get addictive. Right now, as I try to keep my running to a minimum and am not getting a lot of exercise, I need to do more walking. Having the Fitbit there to keep track of miles is really helpful.
For example, taking the stairs, parking in the back of the parking lot or taking the long way around somewhere have meaning and numbers attached to them. You can even just walk around your house if you are trying to reach a certain number goal. Talk about convenient!
It also has the option to log your food, track your sleep, water and weight. It’s kind of a big bag of tricks for anyone looking to start watching their lifestyle and diet.
I've been thinking about getting the FitBit Flex…
Is that different from Verizon's "jawbone up"? Anyone know the difference or recommend one over the other??
