I was recently contacted by an interesting company that seemed really relevant to the Sweet Life. Promise or Pay combines the desire to make good decisions, help others and live your best life.

When I saw the description, I knew I wanted to try it. Somehow the founder had found his way over through my post about “causes” recently and thought I’d be a good fit.

Promise or Pay is dedicated to helping humanitarian organizations raise money while helping YOU make good choices — and either way, you come up on top.

The premise: Sign up and make a promise to yourself (work out everyday, set a budget, do something nice for someone every day, etc.). At the same time, you set a donation up for a humanitarian organization within Promise or Pay to donate a certain amount to. If you fail to keep your promise, you pay the the set amount. It can be as low as $10 so it’s not a huge risk.

Here are just a few of the places you can donate (there are lots of things in there for animals, education, protecting the earth, providing clean water, etc. so you can find something that works for you).

I decided to give it a try by promising to donate to Roots of Health, a nonprofit organization focused on improving the health of women and girls, and their communities, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, in the Philippines.

So, if you are looking for a new challenge and want to help a good cause this is one way to do it. Jump on and tell others about it — why not? I promised to budget and follow a budget for the mont of March (no easy task for me!)
