Oh hey there — 28 weeks pregnant and still going strong! I will hit 29 weeks on Wednesday and man, things are starting to feel different. However, I’m going to save all the body changes and updates for my 30-week update in a couple weeks so stay tuned!

For now, I wanted to check in with my workouts since it’s been awhile since I did that! Here’s the past week, which is pretty typical.

  • Sunday: Rest day
  • Monday: 4-mile walk, free weight arm workout
  • Tuesday: Xtend Barre
  • Wednesday: Barre Tech
  • Thursday: Vinyasa yoga
  • Friday: Xtend Barre
  • Saturday: Rest
  • Sunday: 3.5 mile walk w/ some interspersed light jogging

Just like pre-pregnancy, working out keeps me feeling good mentally and physically. I still seriously miss my high energy, endurance workouts but barre has been a great sub. I don’t know what I would do without it, actually.

Barre is a Godsend

Yoga is too slow for me and I’ve never really like pilates. Barre, especially at Xtend, offers the cardio and the strength side with lots of variety at a fast pace. As I’ve mentioned, I’m a huge wimp and can rarely ever hold the poses long enough — but I try.

There’s a lot of ab stuff at barre, which is the only current downside. I don’t do a ton of ab stuff because I don’t want to put much pressure there.

Class Pass

I still love Class Pass and the variety that’s offered there — it’s SUCH a good deal and I’m not paid to say that! Ha ha – only $100/month with access to a TON of studios and unlimited classes (only 3 per studio per month.) I always use up all my classes at Xtend & Barre Tech. Here are the studios I like:

  • Xtend Barre (favorite!)
  • Barre Tech (love it & it’s super close to home!)
  • Pure Barre (when I run out of Xtend & Barre Tech)
  • Refresh Yoga
  • 532 Yoga
  • Revolve Cycle
  • Zengo Cycle
  • Gold’s Gym Classes

I reeeeeallly need to try some new studios but am so caught up in my regulars, I am being lazy about trying new places. Perhaps that will be a goal for this week! Anyone in the DC-area have any suggestions? I’ve heard Core Power is awesome, but almost everything listed for AM is heated and I can’t do that right now.

Third Trimester Predictions

Today, my sciatica was NOT acting up which is why I did a little light jogging. It’s still there for the most part but again, I just deal. I’m guessing I’ve gained about 20 pounds at this point but can’t say for sure. Will be interesting to see how much I gain in the end. I’m guessing it will be around 30 pounds but who knows!

I continue to lose my breath more easily and I’m wondering how the growing size will affect my normal classes. Being fit and staying fit throughout my pregnancy I think will allow me to stay active until the end.

I’ve seen lots of people keep at it until just before delivery and I hope to be one of those! Of course I could just be naive as a first-time 🙂

Do what feels good until the end. Stop when it doesn’t feel right. You’ll know- just stay tuned to your body 🙂 Sounds like you are doing awesome and you look great!
