Yoga excuses. It took me years to try yoga. YEARS. I was always the cardio girl, pounding out a million miles on the treadmill or spending a mind-numbing 45 minutes on the elliptical.

Well, a lot has changed since those boring, misguided fitness years. These days, yoga — in some way, shape or form — is part of my daily routine. It’s not about having the time, it’s about making the priority and it could mean minutes if that’s all you’ve got.

After those many, many years without yoga in my life, I finally took the plunge and went to a class. I bent in ways I didn’t know I could, I activated muscles I didn’t know existed, I found relief in breathing patterns I’d never heard of. In short, yoga taught me about my body in fascinating and important new ways.

I don’t always have time to hit up an hour-long class at the gym, but I always have time to hit a few morning poses or turn on my computer for a class in my living room — and Gaiam TV is a great one to check out.

    ahhh my girl is only 9.5 but Im already thinking about this stuff and how to explain it all to her and how to SHOW HER TELL HER how to feel better when/if she has pms etc.
    LIFE IS COMPLICATED 🙂
