Today, I’m heading to the 2014 Reebok CrossFit Games in Carson, California as a part of Media for Reebok for the event. I am beyond pumped and so excited to cover the Games in as much detail, twitter, photography, instagramming, etc. that I can. For those that can’t make the trek, I wanted to give you a little preview and show you what to watch out for on social media over the next few days.
As some of you know, I went last year as well — and you can see my four posts about that trip here (linked at the top).
What: 2014 Reebok CrossFit Games
Where to watch: CrossFit Games Website , live on ESPN3, on Chromecast, or nightly on ESPN & ESPN2
Schedule: Find each day’s competition schedule here
Why the CrossFit Games are like no other competition on earth: Every year, Games director Dave Castro and team come up with new, incredible combinations of workouts to test the athletes and push them further than the year before. There are some more traditional workouts in the Games but part of the fun for both athletes and spectators is the unexpected. Even athletes do not know what the workouts will be until days before the competition.
This year, the media team is lucky enough to be hosted by some top notch CF athletes, including last year’s second place winner Lindsey Valenzuela, 3x Games competitor Blair Morrison and Games Veteran Josh Everett. Here’s Lindsey in 2012:
The fun starts for us media folks on Friday. We’ll be attending the Games Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you want to stay hooked up to all the action (the official Games actually started yesterday with the Masters portion), you can get connected to these social media sites:

So I’m looking forward to seeing this stadium again, eating a ton paleo snacks (no hamburger buns here!) and getting my WOD on with some fantastic athletes! I’ll be snapping photos with my nice camera day long and definitely keeping you up to speed on Twitter and Instagram as well.
I’m sure I’ll come home even more in love with this fantastic sport (and more motivated to finally get that strict pull up I want so bad!). Don’t forget to also stay up to speed with Gina, who is going with me as a blogger and my friend Justin, who runs CrossFit or Die.
