It’s my last day at SXSW — but no tears here. It’s been amazing however, I’m ready to get home tomorrow morning and see Rick!

Friends in Austin

After spending hours at my college friend Melody’s house on Sunday night, I totally overslept on Monday morning. Sleeping in hotel rooms in all their dark comfiness always makes it hard to get up.

Melody and I at her place in Austin!

Speaking of Melody, she lives in Austin and has a ton of chickens in her backyard! She and her wife made me the world’s most delicious dinner for me — full of fresh veggies from the farmers market, this amazing homemade cheese ranch dressing and more. I was totally spoiled and even got the recipe!

But I finally popped out of bed, got some work done and FORCED myself to head to the hotel gym. I didn’t want to but I felt so blah — like so out of control. I grabbed my magazine and made it happen. Felt SO much better afterwards and was able to take on the day in a much better frame of mind.

Austin Food Scene

Luckily, I ran into a breakfast taco stand on the way in and it was delish! Had all kinds of great, Austin food yesterday — like maple and coffee brisket from Lambert’s and even a shot of moonshine from “Moonshine” the restaurant (had to!) I’m told that tomorrow I MUST try Torchy’s Tacos because they are the best thing ever. I’m gonna try to make it happen!

So glad Kelsey came with me. We’ve been doing a lot of different tracks because she’s into visual/design and I’m more on the content marketing/social media side of things. It’s also been great for us to get to know each other better and get some quality girl talk in 🙂

So today is my last day here and I intend to soak it up! Later today, I will be hearing Chelsea Clinton speak — which is pretty cool!
