I’ve never been able to hold concentration on watching any sport except gymnastics. As I’ve said before, Crossfit reminds me of gymnastics so maybe that’s why I keep clicking on all the Crossfit Games videos that are popping up everywhere I turn.

What stands out to me about the best of the best? They are humble. Annie Thorisdotter seems like the nicest person on the planet — and I was surprised to hear Rich Froning say he wants to do everything for the glory of the Lord.

Then I noticed he has a massive tattoo that says “Galations 6:14” on the side of his body. Of course I had to look it up and here’s what it says:

“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

I think that’s really cool!

When Annie was asked how she won, she said simply that her strength is that she “doesn’t need to rest” in the middle of anything. I think what she meant to say was that she is a total badass that pushes through when it’s really really really hard. But…she’s humble so she didn’t say that 🙂

I’ve watched a ton of interviews with Annie and she is always super humble, which I find so appealing. It brings me to the other aspect of Crossfit I love, which is the team work. Everyone is for everyone else and when you finish, you get on the ground and cheer your friend on.

Source.

So anyway, I’ve been too shy to ask any of my Crossfit buds to take photos of me at the gym. I want to show you guys how I’m doing but it’s kind of embarrassing to ask. When I went to the very lightly attended 9am class the other day, I broke down and asked for a quick video of me doing thrusters. Nothing special but hey, proof that I’m actually there doing it, right:

I wish I could show more and have more photos but people really do look at you like you’re weird when you take photos there! Maybe someday soon I’ll just grin and bear it. I’m a blogger, after all!

In the meantime, I’m seriously considering buying some Crossfit gear to wear around with pride — perhaps starting with this t-shirt:

Oh and today’s WOD:

5 Rounds for time:
15 Power cleans (95/65)
15 Dumbbell push-ups
200 m run

Burn baby!!!!!!!!!!

QUESTION: What do you like about Crossfit athletes? Do you have any gear/clothes/shoes, etc. that you love to wear? Tell me and link so I can get some!

WOD love clothing and I'm with you… I'd love to have photos/ videos but it's totally awkward. Maybe one day when I master the muscle up I'll ask for a photo! Haha
